Law enforcement officers from Obama Police Station have seized 187 kilograms of Cannabis Sativa with an estimated street value of Sh5.6 million in Ruai, Nairobi.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the breakthrough came after officers on a routine foot patrol within the station’s jurisdiction intercepted two 17-year-old Ugandan nationals.
A search conducted on the two juveniles led to the recovery of Cannabis Sativa in their possession, resulting in their arrest.
The DCI said the two suspects were interrogated and subsequently led officers to a house in Ruai, where a search uncovered the larger consignment of bhang.
A 33-year-old woman, identified as Susan Omondi, was arrested at the premises.
Omondi and the two juveniles were escorted into lawful custody and are being held pending arraignment in court. The recovered narcotics have been secured as exhibits.
“The DCI remains committed to disrupting drug trafficking networks, dismantling illicit supply chains and protecting communities from the devastating effects of narcotics,” the DCI said.
