Vihiga county will splash a whooping Sh103 Million to build a palatial home for the governor Wilber Ottichilo. His deputy governor’ house will cost Sh 55 million bring the cost of both houses to Sh. 158 million.

The governor went against the advise by the auditor general that termed the land at the cost of Sh23.9 million as too expensive.

The governor has given the contractor a June 30 deadline in a bid to beat the deadline when the house allowances for governors , deputy governors and speakers  would be scrapped out.

This is after salaries and remuneration commission issued circulars stating that houses for the governors should be completed by June 30.
