    Woman stabbed and killed in love triangle saga in Baringo

    A 55-year-old woman was found murdered in a village in Kolowa, Baringo County.

    The woman identified as Bartany Chela was found dead under a grass thatched store with her private parts badly severed.

    Police said the incident happened on Friday afternoon after an altercation with her husband over claims of infidelity.

    The husband was later arrested in the area while trying to escape, police said.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy as police prepare to arraign the suspect.

    In Malaika, Kakamega County, a fight between two cousins turned tragic when one of them died.

    This is after one Stephene Shikundi, 33 died in hospital where he had been rushed to.

    The two had fought over land issues before Shikundi was stabbed in the forehead and rushed to hospital where he died, police said.

    The suspect escaped the scene and efforts to trace him are ongoing, police said.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy. Such murder incidents have been on the rise amid efforts to solve them.

    Elsewhere in Keroka, Nyamira County, one Juma Keya, 54 was attacked and killed by unknown men as he walked home.

    The deceased’s wife said Keya arrived home and complained he had been attacked by the assailants on Nyasore-Metamaywa road before he was taken to hospital. He later succumbed to the injuries as the body was moved to the mortuary.

    The motive of the attack is yet to be known and the body was moved to the mortuary pending other procedures.

    In Nyamarambe, Kisii County, one George Ntabo, 40 died after being assaulted by unknown people.

    In Gongoni, Kilifi County, a suspect was arrested for fatally assaulting a police officer on October 25, 2025. The suspect had been on the run since then before he was arrested on October 31, 2025 in Kurawa area in Tana River, police said.

    He is accused of assaulting constable Elkana Plimo of Ngomeni police station.
