FIFA has launched the second phase of ticket sales for the 2026 World Cup, placing one million tickets into a global lottery system that began on Monday. The draw will run through Friday and features a special priority window for residents of the tournament’s three host countries: the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Fans from around the world can enter the random draw, but those living in the host nations will have first access to purchase tickets for matches held in their own countries. The priority period runs until 11 a.m. ET on Friday, ensuring that local supporters receive early access before international buyers.
Once the draw closes, selected applicants will be assigned purchase time slots through a randomized allocation system. FIFA says winners will be notified at least 48 hours before their window opens, giving them time to prepare and complete their ticket purchases.
The designated buying windows will take place between November 12 and 15. After the host-nation exclusivity period ends, more purchase slots will be opened to fans globally starting November 17. Additional ticket releases are expected to follow in phases as the tournament approaches.
According to FIFA, more than one million tickets were already sold in the initial presale phase earlier this year. Fans from the U.S., Canada, and Mexico purchased the most tickets during that period, while supporters from England, Germany, Brazil, Spain, Colombia, Argentina, and France also ranked among the top early buyers.
“We have already seen massive interest from around the world for this tournament, and especially from within the host countries,” said Heimo Schirgi, chief operating officer for the 2026 World Cup. “This second phase, with its domestic exclusivity time slot, allows us to say ‘thank you’ to local fans while still ensuring global opportunity.”
The 2026 World Cup will be the largest in history, with 48 teams and matches hosted across multiple cities in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
