Kenya said on Wednesday said the operations of the Kenya-led multinational security support mission in Haiti won’t be jeopardised after the United States froze its financial contributions to the force’s United Nations fund. Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura said the move, which stops $13.3 million in pending aid, was announced by U.N. The US Postal Service (USPS) said it has stopped accepting parcels from mainland China and Hong Kong until further notice. Letters will not be affected by the suspension, said the company, which declined to offer a reason for the decision. A casual worker died after he fell from the second floor of a building under construction in Juja, Kiambu County. Gibson Kamande, 35 was among almost a dozen workers at the site on Sunday February 2 evening when he slid and fell from the upper floor. A Kenya Defence Forces soldier was abducted by a gang that robbed, before injuring him in an attack in Mumias, Kakamega County. Corporal Onesmus Wekesa based at the Defence Force Recruit Training School in Eldoret was returning to his workstation after being off-duty in the village when the incident happened on February 2.
