Sean “Diddy” Combs, one of the most successful rappers and music moguls in the US, will soon be on trial for sex trafficking and racketeering charges. At a hearing attended by Mr Combs, a judge ruled his trial will begin on 5 May next year. A witness in the impeachment case against the embattled Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua released contradicting statements regarding the ownership of the Olive Garden Hotel. The hotel is among the properties listed in the motion as assets that Gachagua has been accused of acquiring through graft as he has denied its ownership, claiming it belonged to his late brother Nderitu Gachagua. Liam Payne, a former member of boyband One Direction, has died after falling from the window of a hotel in Buenos Aires, according to police there. He was 31. Payne’s death occurred Wednesday at a hotel on Costa Rica Street in the Palermo neighborhood, according to a statement from police provided to CNN. Buenos Aires police said that personnel from the 14B Police Station went to the hotel on Wednesday afternoon after receiving a 911 call about an aggressive man who was possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Sean “Diddy” Combs has been accused of raping a woman as “payback” for suggesting he was involved in the murder of Tupac Shakur. In a lawsuit filed in California, Ashley Parham also claims the musician threatened to slash her face with a knife in retaliation for her comments. A fuel tanker crashed and exploded in Jigawa state in northern Nigeria late on Tuesday after the driver lost control of the vehicle, leaving at least 94 people dead and wounding 50 others, a police spokesperson said on Wednesday. The incident occurred in Majia town in the Taura local government area, about 530 kilometers (329.33 miles) north of the capital Abuja, spokesperson for Jigawa State Police Command Lawan Shiisu Adam told Reuters by telephone. Senate Speaker Amason Kingi has overruled an objection raised by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s legal team, which sought to bar Siaya Governor and Senior Counsel James Orengo from representing the National Assembly in the impeachment proceedings. Police are investigating claims by a businessman he lost his pistol with seven bullets after he forgot it in a toilet of a bar in Kitengela, Kajiado County. The businessman told police he on October 14 at night went to the club along Namanga-Nairobi highway with his wife for food and drinks when the incident happened. The man is a licensed gun holder. He said he went for a long call at the establishment’s toilet and undressed. Officials from Kenya Power are investigating an incident in which four cows were electrocuted in a village in Mukurweini, Nyeri County. The cows belong to farmer John Kinyua Muturi, 68 in Karundu village in Mweru location. Muturi said he Tuesday woke up and heard strange noise from a shed where the cows were and on checking he found his two freshian cows sprawled on the floor. Police are investigating the murder of a night watchman at Kathanthatu Day Secondary School in Nkuene, South Imenti, Meru County. The incident occurred Tuesday night, police said. A second guard was injured in the attack. He is fighting for his life in a local hospital. Police said he sustained multiple injuries indicating there was a struggle between him and the attackers.
