A burglary suspect was shot and killed in a failed incident in Dudi area, Khwisero, Kakamega County.

The deceased was in the company of unknown burglars when they broke into the home of one Prof Daniel Oruoch.

Police responded to the scene and managed to shoot dead one suspect. The other suspected accomplices managed to escape in the Monday night drama.

During the drama, one police officer accidentally shot himself in the leg. This is after his AK47 rifle accidentally discharged a bullet, hitting him in the left knee, police said.

Meanwhile, police are investigating an incident where a man was found dead in a house after he had sold two sheep.

Police said Richard Chikono Mengwa, 52 was found dead in a house after suspected murder. The body was found lying on the floor with blood oozing from his mouth.

The man’s wife was detained pending investigations. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations, police said.

In Magadi, Kajiado County, the body of Sammy Tabu, 37 was found in a bush in the Intasopia area. Police said they visited the scene and found the deceased’s body decomposed beyond recognition.

Two suspects were arrested in connection with the murder pending investigations, police said. The remains were moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.

And in Nyalenda, Kisumu County, a woman aged 53 was found dead after suspected suicide. The motive of the incident is yet to be known, police said.

The incident was among at least four suicide incidents reported to police on Monday alone amid a rise in the trend and campaign to address the same.

Police say the incidents are under probe. Suicide incidents have been on the rise in the country with up to three cases being reported daily.
