    Boxer Conjestina Achieng Health Deteriorates, Family Calls For Help

    conjestina achiengWhen you mention boxing in Kenya,there is surely one name that Kenyan people can never forget and that is that of Conjestina Achieng. She is one of the best boxers that Kenya has ever known.She became the first African woman to hold an international tittle when she beat Ugandan Fiona Tugume to take the vacant WIBF middle weight tittle.

    Things have however turned out for the worst to Achieng when she fell sick  back in…. she was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and has ever since not recovered.it is said that her health has really deteriorated even after being taken to several hospitals across the county.

    Her mother Getrude Auma and her entire family is appealing to well wishers to help her daughter during this difficult time.This comes after several attempts of asking for help from the government whom they claim have forgotten the one person who put Kenyan name in  the boxing arena.

    Conjestina Achieng was once admitted to Mathare mental hospital which specializes in mental services but was later released.Her brother has also sent his appeals for help as he says that her sisters health is causing danger to their village members.Conjestina is said to be in the worst state ever ,she allegedly went to a local primary school where she beat most of the students which is really making the whole community worried because a single punch can cause damage to the victim due to her boxing prowess.

    ‘Hands of stone’ as she was popularly known back then is a legendary boxer whom should be regarded as one of our heroines having made a name for Kenya in the boxing arena both locally and internationally.She gathered total fights of 27,17 wins and 6 losses,4 draws and 8 wins by knock out.
