Unknown individuals broke into a Bungoma home belonging to Bumula MP Mwambu Mabonga on Friday morning.
The unidentified individuals are alleged to have stolen a 32-inch TV set and other house items.
The thieves, gained access into the home located in Mwiyenga village at around 2 am by cutting part of the fence.
The MP revealed that the thieves also poisoned one of the family dogs.
According to the Bumula Deputy County Commissioner John Tanui, two suspects have so far been arrested in relation with the incident.
“I want to send a stern warning to youths who might be breaking into leaders’ houses that their days are numbered,” Officer Tanui noted.

Officer Tanui also affirmed that the legislator and his family were not in the house when the robbers broken into it.
One of Mwambu’s guards has recorded a statement with police.
Speaking on on the robbery, the first time legislator stated: The first term lawmaker was elected on an independent ticket. “I am telling those who want to mess up with me that they have the wrong guy.”
The officer noted that further investigations into the matter are ongoing.
This incident follows recent cries by Bungoma residents over the presence of robbers and assailants who constantly terrorize the villagers.
