    Kawangware Cobbler Charged After Admitting To Stealing TV Set To Please Wife

    A man, who works as a cobbler, has been charged for stealing a television set in Kawangware.

    Appearing before Kibera senior Magistrate Florence Mutuku, Moses Karanja pleaded guilty to the charges.

    He was noted to have stolen a 32-inch television set on April 11.

    According to the prosecution, Karanja was arrested after the public informed the police that there was suspicion that he was a thief.

    Consequently, he was arrested and taken to Kabete police station.

    In his defense, Karanja told the court that he is a Christian and he only stole the TV to male his wife happy.

    He also mentioned that he has a beautiful wife and children whom he only wanted to make sure they enjoyed his company while they were together.

    The accused further asked the court to forgive him and issue him with a lenient sentence as he will not repeat the mistake again.

    The magistrate directed that he be remanded, until later on Monday where she will issue her sentence on the case.
