Joseph Kori was a businessman until some two weeks ago when he became a suspect in his wife, Mary Kamangara’s murder case.
The 41 year old father of two, has been accused of killing his wife with his mistress Judy Wangui Mungai at her Four Ways Junction apartment. He paid for the Sh60,000 per month rental home.
Before success came knocking, Kori was tried his hand at a couple of business ventures. Then he was married to one Grace Wanjiku Kariuki. They had a daughter together. He abandoned them too.
It was around this time that he met the deceased. She was well connected and got him his first “big” tender.
They would later move in together, get married and have two children.
Now accusing the man of ditching her, is one Grace Wahu Wangari. According to Wahu, she met Kori on October 20, 2007 at a hotel where she worked.
Speaking to the Nation, Wahu recounted meeting the murder suspect and falling in love with him. They had a son. He is now 10 years old.
Were it not for the murder case, she said, she would have never known that her baby’s father was a man of means.
She now lives in Wangige, Kiambu County. Mr Kori, apparently has not been taking care of the boy for three years now.
“We always [ended up] in bitter exchanges whenever I mentioned that I needed money to take care of the boy. With time I despaired and decided to let him be,” she told the daily.

Wahu brings the number of women involved with the businessman to five. The other is Florence Wangari who is believed to be Kori’s business partner.
Ms Kamangara will be laid to rest on February 23, 2019.
Kori appeared in a Kiambu Court for the mention of the case alongside his mistress Wangui and the taxi driver Michael Githae who help the latter dispose off the body.
