Newly elected Nyeri Mp Ngunjiri Wambugu has filed a petition before the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) seeking the removal of Chief Justice David Maraga from office.
Ngunjiri has accused the CJ of not going through all the evidence presented before him before arriving at his decision to annul President Uhuru Kenyatta’s election on 1 September.
Speaking to the media outside the Judiciary, the legislator accused Maraga of influencing the decision taken by the other three judges who called for the nullification of ‘the people’s will.’
The Mp also claimed that the Supreme Court Judge, Ibrahim Mohamed who was reportedly not feeling well was actually stopped from making his ruling.
Wambugu has said that he will be requesting for an audience with the JSC where he will be presenting his evidence against the CJ.

He also alleged that the Judiciary was hell bent on undermining Uhuru’s presidency.
He was accompanied by the Mt Kenya Professionals Association.
The JSC will form a committee that will go through the allegations presented before them. Upon making its findings, the committee is required to inform the accused, Maraga who will then answer to the allegations.
The petitioner will be required then to substantiate his claims.
