A man was Monday arrested after he accidentally hit and killed his two-year-old daughter in a domestic fight with his wife in Riontonyi, Borabu, Nyamira County.

The incident happened in his house as he squared out with his wife after a quarrel.

He is said to have accidentally hit the girl with a wooden stick in the head killing her.

The woman escaped the scene for her safety. The body of the girl was found on the floor in the house minutes later after police were called there.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy, police said adding the man will face murder charges.

In Isebania, Kuria, Migori County, a 30-year-old woman was arrested after she fatally stabbed another woman in a domestic fight in Kanaiz area.

The deceased woman was found lying on the floor in a pool of blood after the stabbing in the chest, police said.

She was identified as Venic Nyabuto, 30. It is not clear what triggered the fight between the two. The killer weapon was found at the scene after locals chased and arrested the said assailant few meters away.

Police said they are investigating murder and that the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

In Timau, Meru County, a man was fatally stabbed in a fight over Sh200 debt. The assailant acted in self defence, police said.

The incident happened near the house of the assailant where a confrontation had broken out. Police said the body of the victim was found lying next to the house on Monday morning long after the murder. The body had stab wounds in the left side of the chest while the said assailant had wounds in the fore head and middle left finger.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy as the suspect was detained for grilling and arraignment, police said.
