Police in Kasarani are pursuing a murder suspect after a 36-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death following an argument in Gituamba area on Friday evening.

According to police, the incident happened at around 7pm when two men known to each other reportedly engaged in a confrontation.

Police said the deceased, identified as Simon Nganga Maina, sustained a deep stab wound on the thigh after he was allegedly attacked by a suspect who fled immediately after the incident.

A resident who witnessed the altercation reported the matter to police at around 7.50pm.

The victim was rushed to St. Francis Hospital where he was pronounced dead while receiving treatment.

Officers from Sunton Police Station visited the hospital and found the body with a deep cut wound on the right thigh. Crime scene investigators from Kasarani also processed the scene.

Police said the murder weapon was not recovered and the motive behind the attack remains unclear.

Detectives have launched a manhunt for the suspect who remains at large.

And police in Mt Elgon, Bungoma County, are investigating the killing of a 37-year-old herdsman whose body was found lying on a road near River Malakis in Kiptchinge village.

According to the police, the incident was reported on Friday evening.

Police visited the scene and found the body of Tito Nyongesa lying dead by the roadside.

Preliminary investigations established that the deceased, who worked as a herdsman for a local resident identified as Mnene Pserem, had been shot dead on the night of May 20 at around 11pm.

Police said the bullet struck the victim at the back of the head and exited through the left eye.

Investigators believe the deceased was attacked by unknown assailants while returning to his residence from the home of a neighbour identified as John Sanutia.

No cartridge was recovered from the scene.

Police said accessing the area was difficult due to rough terrain and lack of road infrastructure, but the scene was processed before the body was moved to Sannte Morgue pending postmortem examination.

No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.
