Nico Cédric Schlotterbeck is a German professional footballer who plays primarily as a centre-back for Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund and the Germany national team.

Siblings
Nico comes from a football-oriented family and grew up alongside his older brother Keven Schlotterbeck, who is also a professional footballer currently playing as a centre-back for FC Augsburg.

Career
Schlotterbeck started his youth career at SG Weinstadt alongside his brother Keven before progressing through academies at Stuttgarter Kickers, VfR Aalen, and Karlsruher SC.
He joined SC Freiburg in 2017, where he made his professional debut and gained valuable experience, including a loan spell at Union Berlin.
His impressive performances at Freiburg caught the attention of bigger clubs.
In 2022, Borussia Dortmund signed him for a reported €25 million fee on a long-term contract.
At Dortmund, Schlotterbeck quickly became a cornerstone of the defense, contributing significantly to the team’s run to the 2024 UEFA Champions League final.
