The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has called on its members in specific constituencies and wards to verify their party membership details ahead of the November 27 by-elections announced by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

In a statement released on Tuesday, the party listed several constituencies — including Baringo, Banissa, Kasipul, Magarini, Malava, Mbeere North, and Ugunja — where members are required to confirm their registration status to be eligible to take part in the upcoming nomination exercises.

The affected wards include Angata Nanyokie, Chemundu/Kapng’etuny, Chewani, Fafi, Kariobangi North, Kisa East, Metkei, Mumbuni North, Kabuchai/Chwele, Narok Town, Purko, Tembelio, Nyansiongo, Nyamaiya, Ekerenyo, Lake Zone, and Nanaam.

ODM informed its members that the party’s membership verification exercise is currently ongoing and urged those in the listed regions to confirm their records either by dialing 483036# or by visiting the party’s official website.

The party further announced that its online registration portal has been temporarily disabled until after the by-election period. This means that no new members will be registered and no changes to registration centers will be allowed during the verification process.

“This is to ensure that only verified and existing members participate in the upcoming by-elections,” the party said in its notice, emphasizing that members in the affected areas must comply in order to avoid being locked out.

ODM stated that the measures are part of its efforts to uphold transparency and accountability in party affairs, especially during crucial electoral exercises.

The by-elections are scheduled to take place on November 27, as declared by the IEBC.
