President William Ruto has appointed Ahmed Abdi Rashid, Mary Murangi Mugo, Claire Sifuna Wanyama, and Caroline Cherono Kilisha as members of the State Corporations Advisory Committee. The appointments, announced in the Kenya Gazette on January 30, 2026, are for a period of three years starting February 4, 2026.
In other appointments, Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen named Benjamin Kiprono Kuttoh as a member of the Board of the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse for three years, effective January 30, 2026.
Defence CS and Defence Council Chair Roselinda Soipan Tuya appointed several retired officers to the Advisory Committee on Military Veterans for one year, starting April 2, 2026. The appointees include Lt. Col. (Rtd.) Esther Wambui Njombo, Capt. (Rtd.) Nelson Wekulo Oditypo, WO I (Rtd.) Ashford Miriti Ndubi, WO I (Rtd.) Joseph Kithome Muindi, WO II (Rtd.) Rebecca Morogo Cheserem, and Sgt. (Rtd.) Rehema Athman Said.
Treasury CS John Mbadi Ng’ongo reappointed Anne Rimbaine Lengerded and Joseph Kipkemboi Ngetich to the Board of Directors of the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation for three years from January 30, 2026. He also appointed James Agembe Akali to the Board of Directors of the Nairobi International Financial Centre Authority for three years from the same date.
CS for Co-operatives and MSME Development Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya appointed George Kingori Gathogo to the Board of the Financial Inclusion Fund for three years, effective January 30, 2026.
Health CS Aden Duale appointed Dr. Patrisio Njiru Njeru to the Board of Directors of the Kenya National Public Health Institute for three years, starting January 30, 2026.
Education CS Julius Migos Ogamba also made several university appointments and changes. He appointed Prof. Kenneth O. Maena to the Council of Tom Mboya University and Joseph Tuikong Rotich to the Council of Koitaleel Samoei University College, both for three-year terms from January 30, 2026.
Additionally, Ronald Leposo Musengi, Jacob Wangai Gitau, and Joseph Omanya Nyotumba were appointed to the Council of Eldoret National Polytechnic for three years, effective the same date. Ogamba revoked the appointments of Allan Mugambi Michael from the Council of Murang’a University of Technology and Joseph Tuikong Rotich from the Council of the Open University of Kenya.
