Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko sent social media into a frenzy after he supposedly nominated Lawyer Miguna Miguna as his Deputy Governor.
In a letter doing rounds on the interwebs addressed to Speaker of the County Assembly Beatrice Elachi, Sonko says that the deported international lawyer was the right man for the job.
“The nominee meets all the requirements provided for in the constitution, the leadership and integrity act, the elections act and the county government act,” the letter reads in part.
But what got people talking is the fact that the two fought for the governor position in the last election with Miguna losing to the incumbent.
Miguna has in the past referred to the county boss as a thug, drug peddler and a functionally illiterate individual.
Sonko had hinted at appointing a member of the Kikuyu community to replace Polycarp Igathe who resigned earlier on in the year.
It has however been said that the governor has been under immense pressure from Interior PS Karanja Kibicho to replace Igathe with an individual of his choosing.

The same day Miguna Miguna was to return to Kenya but was denied re entry is the same day Sonko nominates him for position of Deputy Governor.
