Speaking at their Kampala Offices, the governor stopped the board members from transacting business on behalf of the organization.
Sonko had earlier on in the day met with Union workers and listened to their complaints that he said prompted his decision.
”I will do an official communication to the board stopping them from transacting business until all the grievances are heard and auditing done,” he said.
In his address, he noted that the striking workers were going to call off the week long strike.
Matilda Kimetto, Nairobi County Workers Union Branch Secretary also said that the workers were protesting against the board’s ploy to privatise the company.
The governor, during his inauguration promised Nairobi residents an adequate supply of water.
