The two brothers shared a close bond during their childhood, growing up in a cramped two-room apartment where the living room served as their bedroom.

He led the development and launch of Google Chrome in 2008, which became the world’s most popular web browser.

Pichai later oversaw Android, Google’s mobile operating system, and managed key software products.

His steady rise through promotions culminated in his appointment as CEO of Google in 2015, where he steered the company through major expansions in search, cloud computing, and emerging technologies.

In 2019, he assumed the additional role of CEO of Alphabet, guiding the broader conglomerate amid challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic, workforce restructuring, and the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence.

Under his leadership, Google and Alphabet have emphasized AI integration, user-focused innovation, and global reach, serving billions of users worldwide.

    Accolades

Pichai was featured in Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2016 and again in 2020.
