    Two drown in separate incidents in Migori, Kericho

    Police are investigating two separate drowning incidents that were reported in Migori and Kericho Counties.

    The first incident happened in Dede area, Migori County, where a three-year-old minor died in a family well. The boy was playing with his friends when he slid and drowned in the well, police said.

    The body was later retrieved and taken to a local mortuary pending other procedures. Police said the well was uncovered at the time of the incident.

    In Londiani, Kericho County, a six-year-old boy drowned in Kipchorian river. The boy had been missing from their homestead for hours before his body was discovered floating on the river.

    Police said they are investigating the incident. The body was moved to a local mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.

    Meanwhile, in Homa Bay’s Got Oyaro area, police said a fisherman is missing after a fishing boat he and his three colleagues were in capsized.

    The police said the group had gone on a fishing expedition when the incident happened Wednesday dawn. Three fishermen were rescued but one was yet to be traced on Thursday.

    Local fishermen said they were making efforts to trace and possibly rescue him. It is believed he drowned.

    In Fort Ternan, Kipkelion, Kericho County, a ten-year-old boy drowned in a pool of water as he bathed.

    Police said the incident happened on Thursday November 13, 2025 as the boy went to a quarry with a pool of water to bathe. He is said to have slipped into the water and drowned.

    The body was later retrieved by local divers and moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other procedures.

    Locals called on authorities to fill the dam for the safety of many.

    And police in Luanda, Vihiga County are investigating the lynching of a man who was accused of stealing a hen.

    Police said Christopher Alela, 37 was attacked by a mob after he was accused of being a chicken thief. He was picked up and taken to the mortuary where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

    The body was moved ton the mortuary pending an autopsy.

    Police said they are investigating the killing.
