A woman has accused Amatuks Mexican player Lugiani Gallardo of “physically and emotionally” mistreating her.

Rosalinda Sanchez told Kahawa Tungu that she “suffered a lot of violence” since 6 November 2018 when she arrived in Pretoria to see the player she calls husband.

She did not report the matter to the police because she was “scared” and “did not know what to do” but manged to get help from Mexico’s embassy after she was dumped in the streets.

“I could only go to the embassy since it was very bad and I was scared. I did not know what to do.

“The embassy took me to the house where he lives to pick up my things and gave me where to stay during those days.

“Everything happened last week since I arrived in Pretoria,” Rosalinda, who returned to Mexico last Friday said.

She added: “He now has a relationship with another woman there that’s why he wanted me to leave the country but he mistreated me physically and emotionally.”

Rosalinda said she married Lugiani eight months ago in AGUASCALIENTES, Mexico and “I have the marriage certificate.”

She alleges that the player has a history of violence against her even back in Mexico.

“I’m very scared because even when he played in Mexico for Zacatepec he was very violent with me and made me lose my baby when I was pregnant.”

Lugiani joined the South Africa’s second division side in September this year.

Efforts to reach him for comment has not been successful.
