A 30-year-old woman was found murdered in her room in Samburu, Kwale County.

This is the latest such murder to be reported in the area and targeting women. Two other women were separately found murdered in Mackinnon area on Wednesday, police said adding the probe into the same is ongoing and no arrest had been made.

On Thursday April 23, the body of the woman identified as only Mwende was found half naked in her room.

Police said the woman’s neighbours were concerned they had not seen her for long.

They checked in her room and saw the body lying on the floor with blood stains on her face.

A pair of socks lay next to the body and unused condoms.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

Elsewhere in Mariakani, Kilifi County, a female commercial sex worker was found murdered in a room.

The body of Salfine Juma was found in a lodging she had slept. Her colleagues were concerned they had not seen her for a day and on checking, they found her lying on bed unresponsive.

Police broke the door to the room and found the woman covered with a bedsheet and realized she had been strangled using a piece of cloth.

The body was moved to the mortuary for autopsy, police said.

The motive of both murder incidents was not known, police said adding they were pursuing possible suspects.

Meanwhile, police in Songhor, Nandi County are investigating an incident where one Moses Kipruto Langat, 36 was found dead in a sugarcane plantation.

The body was found on April 23, two days after he was last seen.

The police said the body had bruises in the face.

The body was moved to the mortuary for autopsy and other investigations.

Meanwhile, the body of a man believed to be that of Jackson Nyamai Muthini, 35 and who had previously been reported missing on April 20 in Sultan Hamud, Makueni County was retrieved from river Muooni at Ndivuni village Nduguni sub-location.

The body which had been partly buried in the riverbed sand and covered by dead vegetation had some missing lower limbs, police said as they moved it to the mortuary.
