Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has revealed that Majority Leader Aden Duale is plotting to remove him from two committees in the National Assembly.

Through a post on his social media platform, the outspoken lawmaker noted that his Garissa Township counterpart intends to have him kicked out of the Transport and the Budget committees which he serves.

“So now Aden Duale wants to de-whip me from the two committees that I serve in. First, you are not qualified to do so. This is the work of the party through the Secretary General Raphael Tuju and Chief Whip Ben Washiali,” his post read in part.

He further divulged that his troubles with Duale go as far back as 2014.

Kuria claims that Duale’s plan to have him removed from the committees have been instigated by his presentation to the Building Bridges Initiative that calls for an inclusive government and an inclusive opposition.

“Having an inclusive government and an inclusive Opposition is an ideal I will fight for. So now my friend don’t even go to the media to remove me from committees. Follow procedure and I will leave,” Kuria further affirmed.

The outspoken MP, who is also a member of a 27-member committee whose mandate was to support Matiang’i and his committee to implement the president’s executive order, alleges that Duale has been frustrating his efforts of making Kenya a great country.

Upon the formation of the 27-member committee, Duale had accused Kuria of seeking ‘cheap publicity.’

The looming strife between the two has led to Kuria also claiming that none of his legislative proposals have been successful due to Duale’s opposition.

Kuria’s private bills presented to the National Assembly included: the NGO’s Reform Bill (2014), the Coffee Bill, and the Interest Rates Bill.

Majority leader, Duale, is however yet to respond to the allegations.
