A man was stabbed and killed in a fight at a business center in Sunton area, Kasarani, Nairobi. Solomon Kamau died in hospital after he had been stabbed in the neck by an assailant in a confrontation on January 1. The incident happened at Clay City Business Centre, police said. The victim was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. He had profusely bled, police said. Police in Homa Bay arrested three people, including a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) sergeant, found in possession of a rhino horn valued at Sh2.9 million. The detectives said preliminary investigations have established that the KDF sergeant is based at Ngong camp in Nairobi. Chinese car maker BYD saw its sales jump at the end of last year, as it competes with Tesla to be the world’s best-selling electric vehicle (EV) maker of 2024. The company says it sold 207,734 EVs in December, taking its annual total to 1.76 million, as subsidies and discounts helped attract customers. A gunman has shot dead at least 10 people, including two children, in southern Montenegro on Wednesday, police say. At least some of the deaths happened inside a restaurant in the Cetinje area following a verbal argument between guests, according to a police official quoted by public broadcaster RTCG. Ten people died following a mass casualty event in New Orleans, city authorities say.  Officials with Nola Ready, the city’s emergency preparedness department, report that a further 30 people are injured. Wounded people have been transported to hospital, and public safety partners are on scene, Nola Ready adds. The government staged a total of 101,661 raids on illicit brews across the country that led to the closure of 16,808 non-compliant outlets and 429 shisha joints. A Chinese state-sponsored hacker has broken into the US Treasury Department’s systems, accessing employee workstations and some unclassified documents, American officials said on Monday. The breach occurred in early December and was made public in a letter penned by the Treasury Department to lawmakers notifying them of the incident.
