Detectives are looking for a gang that shot and injured a man in the hand during a robbery mission in Riruta area, Nairobi. The man was shot before he was robbed of his Samsung mobile phone and Sh65,000 he had. The incident happened on Thursday January 18 morning as the victim walked home. Gunmen attacked and robbed a motorist and his three passengers in a village in Dagahaley, Garissa County. The area is near the Kenya-Somalia border where al Shabaab militants raid at will. This has forced many non locals to flee and hence affecting development at large. Police said the driver and his three passengers were on January 17 driving from Garissa heading towards Dagahaley when they were stopped by three gunmen wearing jungle uniforms. Gunmen raided villages in parts of Ngarua, Nyahururu and drove off an unknown number of animals. The gang staged the attack on Thursday morning and targeted Mbogoini dam bordering Laikipia National Conservancy (LNC), police and locals said. No injury was made during the daring attack. The Director of Public Prosecutions Thursday ordered the prosecution of Meru governor Kawira Mwangaza’s brother Murangiri Kenneth Guantai alias Tali to face murder charges over the murder of blogger Daniel Muthiani Benard alias Sniper. Police killed six suspects in an early morning shootout Thursday near South Africa’s coastal city of Durban, saying they had targeted a gang after a spate of house robberies and murders. Police are investigating an incident whereby a 60-year-old man died under unclear circumstances in one of the lodgings at Kapsoit Trading Centre in Kericho County on Wednesday night. The old man, a Church elder in one of the churches in the area died in one of the rooms marked ‘A’ at Simbi Bar and Lodge in Kapsoit Trading Centre, Belgut Sub-county, police said. Authorities in Busia County arrested a 22-year-old woman for impersonating a police officer. Jacinta Merlin Ouma was arrested on Tuesday evening in Bukhalalire, Butula sub-county by police officers from Butula police station after a tip-off from the members of the public. The suspect who was enroute to Butula police station dressed in a General Service Unit (GSU) uniform with an AK47 riffle was ambushed and upon being questioned she did not have a job identification card. At least one police officer was Thursday killed and two injured when a bomb that had been tied on a donkey cart exploded at cross border between Mandera and Bula Hawa in Mandera county.  Two other officers were injured in the morning incident, police said. Two donkeys were crossing with luggage from Somalia side and had a guide when the controlled Improvised Explosive Device went off, police said.
