    Decomposed body of missing boda boda rider found in river in Nyatike, Migori County

    The body of a missing boda boda rider was found floating on a river after a suspected murder in Macalder, Nyatike, Migori County.

    The body of Shadrack Okello, 19 was found on Miroche river in Nyadago long after his murder, police said on Sunday.

    He was reported missing on December 23. The body had decomposed when it was discovered.

    He was a rider between Masara and Arombe in the area.

    The body had head injuries and on the neck, police said.

    His motorcycle was missing at the time of the discovery. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other investigations. Cases where riders are killed and robbed of their motorcycles have been on the rise in the area. Police advise the riders to cooperate with their attackers for their own safety.

    Some of the motorcycles are refurbished and sold to unsuspecting buyers. Police say they are investigating the incidents.

    And the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) is investigating the death of a suspect at the Ongata Rongai police station cells. The suspect is said to have died by suicide at the cells on December 27. The body was found hanging on a window grill long after the incident, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy and further probe.

    Such deaths are usually investigated by the IPOA.

    And in Muyu, Mukurweini, Nyeri County, one Alice Wairimu, 39 was electrocuted in her house. Police said her body was found lying in the house after the electrocution which happened as she mopped a floor.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

    In Ogwedhi, Migori County, a mob burnt and vandalized property of a woman after her son was accused of murder.
