Knowing how to check your Facebook password can be useful if you have forgotten it and want to access your account on another device. Facebook does not normally display your current password inside the Facebook app or website. However, if you previously saved the password on your phone or browser, you may be able to view it through your password manager.

    1. Table of Contents

      • Check Saved Passwords on iPhone
      • Check Saved Passwords in Your Browser

Check Your Saved Passwords on Android

If you use an Android phone and saved your Facebook password with Google Password Manager, open your phone’s password settings.

Search for Facebook or the account associated with Facebook and authenticate using your phone’s screen lock.

    • Open Settings or Google Password Manager
    • Search for Facebook
    • Verify your identity
    • View the saved password if available
    1. Check Saved Passwords on iPhone

On an iPhone, you can check whether your Facebook password was saved in Apple’s Passwords app.

Open the Passwords app, authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode, and search for Facebook.

    • Open the Passwords app
    • Authenticate your identity
    • Search for Facebook
    • Select the saved account
    1. Check Saved Passwords in Your Browser

If you normally use Facebook through Chrome, Safari, Edge, or another browser, the password may have been saved there.

Open the browser’s password manager and search for Facebook.

    • Open your browser settings
    • Find the password manager
    • Search for Facebook
    • Authenticate if required
    1. Reset Your Facebook Password if It Was Not Saved

If you cannot find your password in a password manager, you cannot normally retrieve the current password from Facebook.

Instead, use Facebook’s Forgot password? option on the login screen to reset it.

    • Open the Facebook login page
    • Select Forgot password?
    • Enter your email address or phone number
    • Follow the instructions to create a new password
    1. Create a Strong New Password

If you reset your password, choose one that is difficult for other people to guess.

Avoid using simple information such as your name, birthday, or phone number.

    • Use a unique password
    • Avoid obvious personal information
    • Consider using a password manager
