Butter biscuits are simple, delicious, and perfect for any occasion. These classic biscuits are rich, crumbly, and melt in your mouth, making them a favorite treat for tea time or as a snack. They require only a few basic ingredients and are easy to prepare, even for beginners. Here is how to make butter biscuits.

    Ingredients

To make butter biscuits, you will need:

    • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
    • ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
    • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
    • A pinch of salt

    Steps to Make Butter Biscuits

    1. Prepare the Dough
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. This process helps create a soft and crumbly texture.
    2. Add the Dry Ingredients
Gradually add the flour and a pinch of salt to the butter mixture. If using vanilla extract, mix it in at this stage. Stir until the dough forms a smooth consistency.
    3. Shape the Biscuits
Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Lightly press each ball with a fork to create a pattern on the surface.
    4. Chill the Dough (Optional)
For a firmer texture, refrigerate the shaped biscuits for about 15 to 20 minutes before baking. This helps them hold their shape while baking.
    5. Bake the Biscuits
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the biscuits for 12 to 15 minutes or until they turn lightly golden at the edges.
    6. Cool and Serve
Allow the biscuits to cool on the baking tray for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Once completely cooled, they are ready to be enjoyed.
