The Jubilee Party has expressed discontentment with the way NTV Journalist Mark Masai interviewed Deputy President William Ruto.
In a tweet on the party’s official twitter handle, the party said that Masai was interviewing DP Ruto on a wishful thinking that the party (Jubilee) was disintegrating.
It is unfortunate that Mark Masai and the rest of the estate is pushing for Jubilee to die. It is shocking, surprising and somewhat sobering. The concept of Jubilee is a party that outlives individuals and is more of ideas and principles. #StateOfJubileeIsStrong

Despite Ruto saying that he was not the automatic candidate for the party come 2022, the party later tweeted confirming that he (Ruto) is the automatic presidential candidate come 2022 since no other candidate had expressed interest.
As we stand JP is the biggest party in the Republic and our candidate for 2022 is William Samoei Ruto (no other member has declared interest) despite NTV's best efforts to humiliate him on live TV.@UKenyatta#TukoPamoja#StateOfJubileeIsStrong

Other tweeps who watched the interview expressed their disgust over how Masai conducted the interview, saying that he was unprepared for it. Here are some of the reactions:-
Mark Masai is the male version of kisungu mingi na kunyoa ndevu kama slay king. No research and connection to the issues. The biggest quote from this interview is “SGR is not a matatu….” At that point, the issue should have ended. #DPRutoOnNTV

As much as I understand journalist Mark Masai has burning questions to ask, an interviewee must also be given time to respond to questions. These unnecessary interjections are unnecessary. Give the DP time to respond bwana. Pumua kiasi. #DPRutoOnNTV

Characteristics of DP in interviews;
1. Figures in his finger tips
2. Composed
3. Very prepared
4. Sharp and crafty
5. Philosophical
Proper research before and during the interview is therefore pertinent. Follow up questions can be a tool to get the best results.#DPRutoOnNTV— Marvin, WordSmith ✍🏽 (@MarvinGakunyi) July 8, 2018
