Michael Olunga’s club Kashiwa Reysol has been related to the Japan’s second tier league.

Despite thumping Cerezo Osaka 3-0 in their penultimate J-League match Saturday, Kashiwa still kissed the grass as relegation rivals Nagoya Grampus shocked second placed Sanfrecce Hiroshima 2-1 in another fixture to survive.

Nagoya took their points’ tally to 40, four ahead of Kashiwa with one last round of matches to spare.

In the match staged at Yanmar Stadium, Olunga was a unused substitution.

The Kenyan international joined Kashiwa from China in August this year on a three-year contract for reported Ksh 300million and Ksh 15million monthly salary.

He has since scored three goals in ten appearances for the club.
