A man on Monday shocked many after he told a Nairobi court that President Uhuru Kenyatta will die in exactly eight days should he not call on God before March 19, 2019.

Wilson Mwangi Macharia, a shoe shiner was arraigned before magistrate Z Abdul said he is sure that the head of state will die as communicated by the “holy spirit.”

“I am not on medication the holy spirit spoke to me,” said Macharia, who has been suffering from epilepsy since childhood.

The father of five was arrested in February carrying a placard with “Uhuru will die if he fails to call god through us before March 19, 2019” – written on it.

He was arrested and taken to parliament police station and later to Central Police Station.

According to his brother, John Kinyanjui, Macharia has been off his medication since 1986 and every so often suffers gets seizures.

But his dramatic episodes are said to have started in 2000 when he started referring to himself as a prophet.

So bad were the episodes that his wife left him in 2010.

The prosecution asked the court to allow them to carry out further medical tests on Macharia. The report will be tabled on March 18.
