A mother and her 15-year-old daughter are among three people who drowned in a dam while harvesting sand in Shianda area, Kakamega County. Police and officials from the Independent Policing Oversight Authority are investigating an incident where a suspect was found dead after a suspected suicide mission at the Ukwala police cells, Siaya County. Detectives based at the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) believe slain teacher Albert Omondi Ojwang was clobbered to death at the Central police station cells. Another theory is that the victim was removed from the cells and taken elsewhere for torture before he was brought back to the holding room. A 53-year-old man was attacked and killed in a land dispute in the Sikhendu area, Kiminini, Trans Nzoia County. Police said Shadrack Maruti was attacked by his two-step brothers who were joined by their mother, following a dispute over land ownership. The incident happened in Weonia area on June 9. At least seven people have died in a wave of bomb and gun attacks in south-western Colombia, according to local media reports.
