The government staged a total of 101,661 raids on illicit brews across the country that led to the closure of 16,808 non-compliant outlets and 429 shisha joints. A 28 year old woman who was missing for almost a week was found alive at a filling station in Maragua, Muranga County.  Murang’a South Deputy County Commissioner Gitonga Murungi confirmed Tuesday Lilian Nyambura Mbugua who is the a brand manager with East Africa Breweries Limited (EABL) in Nairobi was found alive. Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have reached a divorce settlement after eight years, her lawyer has told media. There was no immediate comment from Mr Pitt’s attorney when they were approached for comment, the Associated Press reports. The couple got married in 2014 and they have six children. Four members of a family traveling from Bomet to Nairobi were attacked and seriously injured by a panga-wielding robber along the Southern bypass, Nairobi.  One of the victims aged 20 had a cut on his neck, a second one aged 22 was injured in the forehead, neck and left ear and a third one on the left cheek and fractured leg. A fund created by the US government to help compensate victims of the late fraudster Bernard Madoff has begun making its final round of payments, according to a statement by the Department of Justice (DoJ). A Chinese state-sponsored hacker has broken into the US Treasury Department’s systems, accessing employee workstations and some unclassified documents, American officials said on Monday. The breach occurred in early December and was made public in a letter penned by the Treasury Department to lawmakers notifying them of the incident. A domestic dispute turned fatal in Githurai, Kiambu County after a man stabbed his 16-year-old daughter to death. The man also attacked and seriously injured his wife in the fight on December 29. Police said Elius Jacob Katanga, 45, allegedly attacked his wife, Teresia Wairimu, 45, and their 16-year-old daughter, following a period of separation caused by marital differences and domestic fight. Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has apologised to the president of neighbouring Azerbaijan for the downing of a commercial airliner in Russian airspace, in which 38 people were killed – but stopped short of saying Russia was responsible. White House spokesman John Kirby has said the US has seen “early indications” that Russia may have been responsible for the downing of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane that crashed on 25 December, killing 38 people.
