Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union said they are among the agencies to attend a protest called to push for the release of Ugandan politician Kizza Besigye. KMPDU said in a statement it will attend the protests in Nairobi on Monday February 24 to demand the release of Besigye, Haji Obeid, Eron Kiiza and all Ugandan political prisoners. A syndicate of fraudsters involved in a series of stupefying and illegal transfer of cash through mobile money transactions in Nairobi were arrested in a crackdown by detectives. The operation followed a complaint by a fraught male victim who fell prey to a callous park of seven fraudsters, three women and four men. At least ten assorted firearms have been recovered in the ongoing Operation “Ondoa Jangili” in Isiolo and Marsabit Counties. The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) appealed the acquittal of former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Ndung’u Waititu, popularly known as Babayao, in a money laundering case. The appeal comes a week after the Nairobi Anti-Corruption Court, on February 13, 2025, acquitted Waititu, a seasoned politician, of money laundering charges.
