The Nairobi Expressway made a loss of Sh1.2 billion in the past financial year, underscoring the risk in Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) as an alternative to traditional financing models.  Data from the Treasury shows that the expressway generated revenue worth Sh4.6 billion from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024, compared to the operational costs totalling Sh5.8 billion. The World Macadamia Organisation (WMO) confirmed ongoing plans to support the macadamia industry through growing demand for the superfood in the global market. Police are looking for a gang that broke into a supermarket in Kabiyet, Nandi County, and stole Sh800,000. The gang is also said to have escaped with assorted goods valued at about Sh500,000. Police said the owner of Uzuri Supermarket located in Kabiyet Township reported unknown people broke into the facility and stole the cash and valuables. A female construction worker died after falling from the sixth floor of a house under construction in Nairobi’s Pangani area. Police said Jackline Auma, 35 was among almost a dozen workers at the site when the incident happened on November 26 evening. She was rushed to a hospital along Muratina Road where she succumbed to her injuries the following day. Officials at the facility said she had multiple injuries. Sean “Diddy” Combs has been denied bail for the third time by a judge in New York City. Two judges previously denied Mr Combs’s release from custody, primarily due to concerns about potential witness tampering, deeming it a significant risk if he was freed before trial, which is scheduled for May 2025. The sale of Royal Mail to Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky’s EP Group is close to being finalised and could be confirmed in the next two weeks, according to sources close to the deal.
