The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) of Kenya has announced a significant recruitment drive to fill 46,000 permanent and pensionable teaching vacancies.  This initiative aims to address the shortage of educators across primary and secondary schools nationwide. His lawyers said he is expected in court to face charges related remarks he made during an event in Ruiru on Sunday night. Three 17-year-olds who staged a fake kidnapping to extort Sh6 million from one of their families were arrested in a police operation.  The con began in Kainginyo, Thimbiri, when two male suspects and a female accomplice, the alleged victim, devised a plan to falsely report her abduction. Multi Agency security team conducted an intelligence-led operation against al Shabaab militants who attempted to establish a makeshift camp inside Boni Forest in Lamu County.  The Sunday September 29 night operations caught the militants by surprise. At least four militants were seriously wounded and escaped into the Somalia border with fatal injuries, police said. Police are investigating the sudden death of a 56-year-old man in his car in Kerugoya, Kirinyaga County. It is suspected he was poisoned. Anthony Kamau who is a businessman in the area had been driven from Nairobi to Kerugoya on Sunday night when the incident happened, police said. A man who was scavenging for construction materials at a demolished house was killed after he was trapped by heavy stones in Kilimani area, Nairobi. The victim identified as Moses Osinde was at the site along Marcus Curvey road opposite Arabian Palace restaurant Sunday September 29 at about 2 pm when the incident happened.
