In the first incident, a man was found dead after a fire had swept through about 20 structures in Kongo area, Kahawa West, Nairobi. Two police officers attached to Kaptagat Police Station in Elgeyo Marakwet were arrested after they were linked to a stolen and slaughtered cow. The constables of police are under probe following the discovery of the carcass of the cow on Monday, police said amid claims the trend has been ongoing in the area. A local had reported her cow was missing. This prompted a search before word went round the missing cow had been slaughtered at the local police station. Senior police commanders at the Central police station in Nairobi were Monday December 16 transferred over the manner in which police handled an anti-femicide protests. The protesters who were generally peaceful were teargassed and chased as at least four were arrested over the same. Jacktone Odhiambo was Monday sentenced to 50 years in jail for the murder of LGBTQ activist Edwin Kiprotich, also known as Chiloba.  He had earlier been convicted of the brutal murder of the activist by an Eldoret court. Three Nigerians were arrested Sunday after a woman claimed they raped her at an apartment in the Parklands area, Nairobi. They were on Monday expected in court to face charges of gang rape contrary to Section 10 of the Sexual Offences Act Number 3 of 2006, police said. The acting Speaker of Nyamira County Assembly, Thaddeus Nyabaro, was injured in an accident involving his car and a bus on Sunday night along Kisii–Nyamira road. Police said the accident involved the acting speaker’s personal car and a Nyamira Express Bus at Nyakong’o near Ikonge Centre. The two vehicles collided head-on at around 11:00 pm leading to slight injuries on the Nyabaro and a driver.
